Amargosa Valley Elementary and Middle Schools are part of Nye County School District in Amargosa Valley, Nevada. Beatty High School will create an environment that encourages and promotes the development of Communication and Critical Thinking skills as students achieve their potential as productive knowledgeable, healthy, creative individuals and members of a democratic society. The first graduating class from Beatty High School was in 1932. Salvaged building materials were brought in from the old school house in Rhyolite to build the first school. A new school was then built on Montgomery Street and Fourth in the 1960's, and one more building added in 1980-81 that housed not just classrooms but a kitchen and cafeteria and this is where all students K-12 attended. In 1991 Beatty High School was built and is located on Cottonwood and Hornet Ave. just off the US 95. Students from Beatty, Amargosa Valley, Springdale, Sacrabatus Flats and Death Valley attend.
The Elementary/Middle School is still located on Montgomery and Fourth where students K-8 attend.

Duckwater Elementary School is a one-room school serving students enrolled in PK-8. We don't live at the end of the Located just north of Railroad Valley and just south of the Duckwater Shoshone Reservation, our tiny school is 70 miles from Ely, Nevada. The next-nearest school in Nye County School District, is in Tonopah, 140 miles away.

Gabbs Elementary/Middle/High (K-12)

Gabbs School was begun in the 1940's with classes held in tents. The nice brick elementary building was completed in 1942 and the high school was completed in 1955.  Additions were made to the front of the gymnasium and the home economics room and three additional classrooms were added in 1975. Our enrollment for the 2010-2011 school year began at 60 students K-12.

 JG Johnson Elementary School  built in 1982 with 10 classrooms, kitchen and gym, there have been two major additions to the main building.  In 1990-01 with 12 classrooms, teachers' room and expanding the library and in 1991-92 with the addition of 4 more classrooms.

 The Manse Campus open at 8:55. Students go directly to their classrooms to have breakfast. We do not offer after school care. Students go directly to class. Students are considered tardy if they are not in class by 9:05. Early dismissal (before Thanksgiving, Friday before Spring Break, Parent/Teacher Conferences, and the last day of school) is 12:45 a.m.

Pahrump Valley High School is located in Pahrump, Nevada about 45 miles west of Las Vegas and about 60 miles East of Death Valley.  Pahrump is a rural community of about 40,000 people in a quiet desert about 1200 students in grades 9-12.  We are the largest high school in the Nye County School District. Pahrump competes with other D1 schools in the state and has won numerous state championships in athletics over the years in the 3A division.

Pathways is a non-traditional school where students are engaged in learning using an assisted/independent learning approach. Grade levels are 6 through 12. Course work is on-line using the A+LS Program. Teachers are assigned to each student and are to provide support and instruction. Pathways is a highly structured environment, with a rigorous academic regime. Students who want to be successful in the school must be independently motivated, goal oriented, and organized. Highly qualified instructors are in each classroom to provide assistance to students. Students’ academic progress is monitored by staff and parents. Students are responsible for their progress. If a student does not complete at least one class every 3 weeks he/she could be exited for the program.

Round Mountain had 95% of the 9-12 grade studentsmeet or exceed the set standards in reading. Thiscompares to 89% in the District and 90% in the State. In writing RMHS achieved 94% in meeting and exceeding set standards. This compares to 89% in the District and 91% in the state. The mathematics scores were not as impressive. Only 45% of the students met or exceeded the set standards (44% were adequate on 11% did not meet the standards). This compares to 55% meeting and exceeding the standards in the District and 64% in the state.

Tonopah Elementary/Middle School is celebrating 45 years of operation in the community this year, 2006. We currently house grades kindergarten through eight. Our school has a proud heritage serving many members of our community. Tonopah School opened its doors in August of 1961 housing grades K - 12. In 1982 part of the elementary section separated and moved into the Silver Rim facility housing grades K-6. In 1991 grades 9 - 12 moved into their current facility.
